Andrew's 3rd

Andrew had his 3rd birthday party today at Little Gym. We got there a bit late, and Sarah had a small, yet temporary meltdown. Otherwise, all went well. We visited with the birthday boy afterwards at his casa before heading for home.

Here is a snapshot of Sarah and her future husband. Let's hear it for the happy couple. They will be registered at Tiffany's and Pottery Barn!

Hold Me Closer Tiny Dancer

Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand.
And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand

Sarah had her first ballet class this Saturday. I was worried that it would be a disaster- similar to her one day (make that 45 minute) career as a gymnast. I am happy to report, however, that she was wonderful!! Made her parents proud! She really enjoyed herself and did pretty well considering. Here are a few pics of Sarah looking pretty in pink.

Gao Shao Sisters Book Exchange

Sarah and her Gao Shao Sisters are having a little book exchange. Nothing like Oprah's Book Club or anything. It's just a way for the girls to share their favorite books with one another, as well as to get an autographed version of their book back when it's return to them.
The premise is this: Everyone picks a book and sends it to the next person on their list. Once two weeks goes by, you take the book you received and send it to the next person, etc and so on. Before you mail it out, you write something in the book for the original owner. By the time your book makes it through the list of readers and back to you (5 books will have made it through 5 little Gao Shao hands) , you will now have a keepsake that has messages from 5 of your sisters.
The first book we received was sent to us by Lexi. It was "Shaoey & Dot" by Stephen & Mary Beth Chapman. Great book. Here is Sarah on our final night with it.....

Sophie is a Chickpea

Sophie started Chickpeas on 9/9/08. Her first few days were a bit traumatic...both for her and Ms. Theresa I am sure. Many a tear were shed. About 7 hours a day worth. I am hoping she gets adjusted to her new surroundings soon, otherwise I have a feeling she will be my second child to be booted from daycare.

Waywayanda & Sarah's 1st Boat Ride

We went to a birthday party in August at Waywayanda State Park. While we were there, Captain Chris and his second-mate Sarah took one of those paddle boats out on to the lake.

They both looked quite cute in their coordinating life vests! After their travels, they took a well deserved rest while sipping on some Capri-Sun.

Graffiti Artist in Training

When Chris was sleeping in late one weekend morning, me and the girls headed outside in our PJs to chalk up the 'hood a bit. Here is Sarah practicing her craft. Mommy admits to helping her out a little...it's fun to deface your own property. Due to the dry spell we had, this art lasted on the sidewalk for about 2 weeks until the recent rains washed it all away. No worries, we've got an entire bucket of chalk just waiting to be used!

Around Town

We are lucky to live in such a lovely little town. There is nothing better than spending a sunny Sunday afternoon walking around town, grabbing a bite to eat at "La Petite Cuisine" and sampling the yummy candy of "Sweetbriars".

Zoo Time

This summer we visited both the Bear Mountain and Bronx Zoos.

The family took a trip to the Bear Mountain Zoo in NY to see some interesting species (and the animals weren't bad either......) Later than month -Mommy, Sarah, Sophie and some fellow Chickpeas took a ride down to Da Bronx for a class trip. Here are some pics from those trips.......
